Yes! Singing for Fun members have a whole range of singing experience. Some members have sung for many years and sing with other groups and choirs, and some members join Singing for Fun to try something completely new.
Yes! We usually sing from sheet music and sing in two, three or four part harmony. But you don’t need to worry if printed music is a complete blur to you as we learn each part separately and rehearsal tracks are made available for many of the songs.
We sing songs written and arranged with community choirs in mind as well as traditional songs, popular songs, well-known classical songs, musical theatre numbers and more. In addition to songs we learn exercises and techniques to improve breathing and vocal range.
Membership is payable termly and currently costs £60 per term. The termly fee covers the cost of the music, venue, pianist, choir leader, concerts, licencing, insurance, and other administrative costs.
You are always welcome to attend the other sessions during the week in addition to the choir that you are registered to, so you can make up missed sessions. There may also be online sessions available and you will have access to the learning resources on the members’ page on the website. Other than under exceptional circumstances, refunds will not be offered.
While concerts are a great way of showing off what you have learnt during the term, they are not for everyone! Concerts are open to all and they are great fun, but there is no obligation to perform.
Fill in the form on the contact page and we look forward to welcoming you to a rehearsal soon!
